Advice 944 auto

Hello,

as always any help is really appreciated

I currently own a 977 c4s and have always wanted to own a 944 auto. There is currently a one for sale on ebay which looks like a decent project for me.
What are the main things to look for (or questions to ask the owner) prior to buying?

All the regular 944 issues: rust, head gasket, fuel and brake lines, pretty much the same as any old car.

Specifically to the auto, the rubber damper in the gearbox is very expensive to replace. I'm not well versed in autos, perhaps someone could give a guide what to look for? You can change to a solid damper instead if it fails.

Autos are very old-school though, with the gearbox sapping power from the least powerful engine in the range, so try before you go for one. The 968 tip is a massive step forward and worth looking at.
