Advice about rear brake pad change please

Hi everyone; last weeks track day has finished off my brake pads and I'm busy fitting a new set. Done the fronts with no problems but can anyone tell me how to change the rears? How, exactly, do they come out? I've removed the retaining pins but they do not want to slide out. Do you have to remove the caliper or am I missing something? I seem to remember something about a retaining bracket thing on the rear of the pad...
Any help gratefully received.

Just for the record, I've sorted it out: there is indeed an anti squeal shim glued to the back of the rear pads. I managed to carefully prise this off each pad in situ. The pads then slide out and can be changed in the usual way. Ideally new shims should be used, but it looks like a swine of a job to fit new pads along with new shims...
