Advice needed about wheels again.

Hello again,
same old topic from myself I'm afraid.
I have been offered a set of "cup one" wheels with the fronts ET52 7 1/2j and ET 47 9J.
Will these fit my 964 and if so what spacers do I need etc.
One for Computamedic I think?
PS they are £450 with good tyres and the wheels themselves are mint. seems a good deal.

and the rears ET47

Dean,

The dimensions look OK although I'd guess the fronts are a bit wide - and a little unbalanced against 9J rears. I can't say as I've ever seen any mention of 8.5J Cup 1s and I'm worried that they might be rear wheels. Some part numbers would be really good so we can identify what they really are. Most of the 964 Cup 1s are 7s and 8s with the RS'es having 7.5J and 9J.

I suspect the wheels you have your eyes on are not Porsche wheels at all but after markeet look-alikes - maybe Mille Miglia.

Some part numbers would clinch it.

Regards

Dave

Hi Computamedic, I made a mistake with my posting, they are 7 1/2 j ET52 fronts and 9j ET47 rear. does that sound better? Thanks again. PS They are genuine porsche wheels too.

Hello again.
I have just called the guy with the wheels and he said the numbers inside the wheels are 375 419.74 XTDS and 376.423.74 XTDS.

They dont sound like genuine wheels to me. The genuine ones have the offset stamped next to the valve. Milla Migla made wheels with the 47mm offset you are talking about for the rears. 52mm for the front with the widths you metion will be ok for a 964 these maybe genuine fronts. They look identical but i found that the coloured plastic center caps did not fit very well on the replica ones when i had a set.

Yes, I agree.
Computamedic emailed some info a while ago and I looked at it after my last post, most/all of the wheels have the model of the car in front on the number ie 964 ??? I'm dissapointed now as I do want the real deal.
Thanks for the replies Guys.
If anyone knows of some for sale then please let me know.
That's the second bit of bad luck today, Mr Wife had our 3 week old Nissan Pathfinder damaged by a lorry today, I'm not a happy Chappie.

Hi Dean,

for Cup 1s there are many to choose from. Although you are not a happy chappie now, try to find a set of 8 J x 17 ET 52 and 9,5 J x 17 ET 68. These are the original wheels of the Cup car, in the rear you will need a 21 mm spacer. Tires will be 225/45 front and 255/40 rear. With a lowered car and for instance H+R suspensions that looks and drives great. Make sure the inside of the fender can´t touch the tire.
The wide front tire makes the front end a little more nervous, if you don´t like that, go for the RS wheels, which are slightly smaller and have 205/50 tires in the front, rear is also 255/40.
I´d also take genuine Porsche wheels only.

Good luck,

Hartwig

Nothing wrong with the MM wheels, I have a set I use, most folks wouldn't even recognise them as different.

I use them for winter, when the decent wheels have a sleep.

Right, nothing wrong with the MMs, I had a set, too. High quality wheels. The genuine ones are for the 100% Porsche feeling to keep that thing original.
