As it states really, the 996 sounds muted, so after a bit of growl.

I had a fabspeed with de-cat pipes on my 993 Turbo, and i have to say it was way to much, so after a middle ground.

Any help invited.
Cheers
lee.

Lee went through a Tubi and design tek titanium before I was happy with the Miltek.

Heard the Miltek back to back with Cargraphic and they sound the same.

See below vid of my car with Milltek which I bout from these guys on ebay.

Don't get me wrong i love the 993 turbo, i had it 2 years, but its the inside where you spend your time, its not a nice place to be, smelly and dated. The 996 has it beat there.

I'm getting older now, and like a few creature comforts, as well as a spot on drive. I will have another, when i can afford both, but for now its the 996.

Sorry, i was looking at the Miltek, thats what i shall go for, great thatyou have tried all the others i was considering.

Cheers

Ive had my 993 for nearly four years now, and to be honest the interior only botherd me for the first week of ownership. I traded in my Audi S4 prior to the 993 and probaly had best interior in the world ever.
I love the 993's interior now and would not change it for the world. The quirkyness becomes the cars charm and so does the smell. It all feels so well made.

Like I said First week, not two years later.

Anyone tried the Europipe?

Not quite as well known but I have read some good stuff about it. Twin T did you go for 100 or 200 cell cats?

I sort of like the fact that all the 911's I've owned have had a similar interior, so yes it could be called dated, but what do you mean by smelly?

I have had 2 993's, a C2 and a 993 Turbo, when i got the C2 it had the rocker cover gascet leak and untill rectified you probably could guess what it was like, but the 993 Turbo had no oil leaks and still smelt the oil and petrol smell from the air cooled engine that would make its way through the venelation system. I also had a 930 supersport with a Paxton Supercharger, and that was silly it breathed so heavy, without a window open it was poisioning you!

I have a few mates with air's and they are the same.

You do get used to it, but the wife kept reminding me.

I have a Techart exhaust which I have been very pleased with - totally transforms the car in my opinion and makes it so much more fun.
There are 3 different types of Techart exhaust for the 996 tt and I think I bottled it and went for the middle one which I'm pretty sure is called the "sports" exhaust, there's also a "racing" version and another one too depending on how brave you are feeling and how much bhp you want to add.
Worth talking to Tech 9 near Liverpool for the full low down.

Hi

I have owned my car from new Feb 2002 and had fitted a FVD Sports Exhaust in 2003 for all the reasons you state you would prefer a sportier system. The FVD system is first class and still looks and performs like new, it's even gone through a UK noise emission test when I shipped the car to the UK in 2005 and it has also had two MOT's since then, it's all stainless steel. Good Luck !

Kind Regards Stan

I've had a tubi on my 996tt for a year now and it's excellent.

Cold mornings are wonderful, when it's running on choke for the first couple of minutes.

I have to say that there is a trade off though regarding cabin noise when cruising. My view is that the tradeoff is worth it for the mornings and second gear blasts.

Any other tubi owners out there?

Cheers

Paul

I had a tubi on my old turbo for a whole 4 hours sounded absolutly terrible , apparantly it was a new version , it sounded like my old mk 2 escourt with a blown exhaust .

My 996tt had Miltek already on it when I bought it and it is excellent compromise in that it has nice deep burble on tickover and great power sound at higher revs. Also passes the noise test at Bedford at about 99 db.- haven't tried it at Goodwood yet but had problems there with the 993tt on standard system.

By the way although I love the power of the 996 and the toys I should have stuck with the 993tt - just bonded with it so much better...(bit sad really)

sorry for my ignorance but whats the difference between 100 and 200 cats ? what its cats anyway ? catalic units ? what difference does it make ? Im also on the market for some tubes, Im loving my 996tt but the sound seems bit muted... anyone in Canary Wharf with a 996tt with a sports exhaust that wants to take me for a 10 minute ride for me to see how it sounds ?

My M8 has a miltek for sale if you want one? pm or robingalloway@hotmail.com if interested

I have one on my car and love it!
