Hi, I'm a new owner of a MY 1976 911 2.7 with 7J x 15 Cookie Cutter wheels all round. They're currently shod with old Avon 205/60s and need replacing. I'm not sure these are the right sizes??
Looking in the owners manual (& doing a rough translate from German...it's LHD) it doesn't really cater for a 7J all round option, but suggests (for the Carrera 3.0 model) that if you have 7J x 15 at the front it is 185/70s or 205/50s with 215/60s at the back.
I'd be interested to hear opinions. I'm looking to keep as close to the original/Porsche recommended sizes as possible. Thanks

Just my 2p worth.
You could contact Longstone Tyres for advice from Dugal.

I have an911T 1973 with 7" Cookies so a narrow body car, not sure if the MY76 is a narrow body. You need the wider rear wings to run 8" at the rear.

Assuming your car is narrow bodied (no swelling of the rear wings) then you could look at Dunlop Sport Blu.
Right sizes available at reasonable cost with a good 70 section side wall profile which will return the car to classic loks, grade A for wet grip and A for silence.

Just a nice simple road tyre for normal driving. These are not 'super-sticky-track-day- hooning around ' tyres.
Had my second set now for 8 years on my 911.
They are 195 x 65 x 15 on each wheel.

You do need to be careful of clearance to the rear wings so the older designs of rounded tyre walls favours the 911 wing fit.

Start will a call to Longstone. He sells original design tyres from the year from the big known names, but all are expensive.

John, thank you for your advice. It is a narrow bodied so the 195/70s should be the right sizes. I will contact Longstone. I assume that's your car above. Looks great! cheers, Matthew
