Advice Please - Fuch Wheels.

I own an early 1988 3.2 Targa, it would appear that originally it would have been shod with 6 & 7J 16" Fuch wheels?

If correct, what would the finish have been originally please, I have noted both matt and polished rims, and matt and gloss black centres, which is correct?

I intend purchasing a set of original wheels, and wish to make sure I buy the correct specification, or at least get them re-furbished correctly.

Hi Ray,
you don’t say what wheels are on your car at the moment.
in 1988 it is almost certain that you car would have been specified with Fuchs 16 ,7 and 8s. The finish would be Anodised rim ..dull silver grey ish and satin black centres .Fuchs were actually an option as the factory spec was I think tele dials but 99% of uk market cars were fitted with Fuchs.
you can buy originals from Porsche ..at a hefty price, or there are some jolly good replicas in the market at sensible prices. Suggest to speak to Matt at Type911 .
My wheels are originals in reasonable condition. Fanatics would have them refurbed but I like the patina they have. I’ll see if I can find a pic. Hope this helps

Could possibly have been 6 and 7’s ..I’m no expert and my son has most of my books at the moment so can’t check...sure someone else on here is more knowledgable..

Hello Ray, I would concur with Graham on his description of the finish, and suggestion the Fuchs for your year would all be 16" diameter - Front 6J and Rear 7J. Spanner in the works now - you have recorded your car on the Register as a wide bodied SSE model. These models would have wider rims Front 7J and Rear 9J. Steve

Hi all,
Thank you for the photo, and advice. Mine are 17" two piece, manufactured by Image in Birmingham, purchased by the previous owner via Paul Stephen's.
Look great, but just thought as 'loads of money' has been spent recently, that a set of Fuch wheels should be added for originality!

Tried to download a photo for you, but I am obviously doing something wrong somewhere?

Thanks again,

Ray

6 & 7's were the standard option, 7 & 8 I believe were a upgrade option, finish would be Anodised rim, a satin silver/greyish and satin black centres.
