Happy new year guys. Currently own an '88 Carrera which i love to bits, but i have a hankering for a 924 Carrera Gt. Can any of you guys give me any pointers on what to look for, how much and where i would find one, and how to spot a genuine one. Was also thinking of looking on the continent as i currently have a left hooker so does not bother me. This has all started after seeing a beautiful black one in Cheshire the other week. Thanks in advance guys.

A genuine CGT has a flush fitted screen, and has a chassis number with 938 if is rhd and 937 if it is lhd. It will have the oil cooler towards the centre of the front splitter not underneath the screenwash bottle, and under the lid will be the very obvious intercooler.
Other than that normal checks for a 924 turbo, e.g. gearbox synchros, hydrualic clutch cylinder leaks and corrosion just in front of the front jack beam point. Cambelt change. 924turbo valves WILL strike the pistons if the belt goes.

I know CGT guru Ricky Caeser had one for sale a while ago, asking a reasonable 7.5k I believe, I remember speaking to him about it...
