Advice regarding replacing front Pirelli P zero tyres on 981 Boxster

I have picked up a wood screw on the edge of the tyrewall, sadly not repairable, and therefore need to replace a front tyre. On a separate note all the Pirelli P-zero tyres on my car have cracking around the edges. :-(

So here are my questions,
Should I replace both front tyres at the same time on Boxster? The other tyre has around 5 mm but as I have mentioned is cracking around the edges.
Has anyone any experience of Porsche or Pirelli standing over cracking tyres? (my car is Jul 2013 and has covered 8,000 miles)
Any finally, I am aware of the £50 cash back for buying 2 Pirelli tyres, can anyone recommend a tyre centre that offers keen pricing? I am in the Warwick/Leamington area.

My tyre size is 234/40ZR19 92Y (N0)

Many thanks.
Gareth (R9)

Pirelli P zero tyres N0 are the shittest tyre made, change all 4.

they have a new tyre now and it's in N1 if you can find them, if not you will have to switch to Goodyears if you want a N spec tyre.

If it were my car I'd bite the bullet and buy four new tyres for the car so you 'start afresh' as it were. Expensive, yes, but you have paid out for a high performance car which you'll drive fast at times, presumably; you have concerns about the condition of all the tyres anyway and, of course, what price safety? Otherwise the advice I've always followed is that you can't change just one tyre on an axle. I changed two fronts (Bridgestones: on the car when I bought it) on my 987S due to tracking problems then got a puncture in a rear tyre and changed both rears. I could ill afford that but I get my tyres from my local garage who give me a good price, thank goodness. Good luck with it...!

Kwik Fit were doing 25% off Pirellis recently - not sure if it’s still available[;)]
(PS there is a an N4 Pirelli PZero available)

I bought winter tyres for a BMW from mytyres.co.uk. You then get a list of local tyre fitting centres that you can choose from.

Their 'fitted' price even beat Costco!!!!

Do I take it that Michelin PS2s are no longer available?

Black Circles shows that P Zero are available in your sizes and if your tyres are cracking then it's best that you change all four but certainly the front pair, these are summer tyres but if you are only covering a low mileage as it seems then acceptable, Michelin Alpins are also available if you decide to use winter tyres.

My 981 came with Goodyear Eagle tyres all round and have been very pleased with them, both touring Europe and other more local trips. Just changed the rears for the same after 18k. Fronts have about another 3-5k left on them and as I don't expect much mileage this winter other that some very local trips will replace them in spring, once again with Goodyears.
Replacements came via the web and I found that Formula 1 had the best prices and availability.

I also run "Goodyear Eagle tyres" N spec on one of my cars they are night and day better than P Zero's, a really nice tyre.

+1 for the Goodyears, the difference is amazing, even my wife noticed and no Ackermans ????????

I've got Goodyears on my GTS and am very pleased with them, they have also been okay on 3 track days this year and still have some life left.

I'll be fitting Goodyears to replace the Michelins on my 3.4S next spring for sure, Porsche approved fitment and so much better value than anything else approved.

Michelin still make the best tyres overall imo. So if buying 4 new that's the only tyre I would fit.

I have just been happy with the Goodyears esp after dumping P -zero and Dunlops not even half worn. I hate both of those brands to a point I have to sell them on even if I buy a new car with them on !

I agree that Michelin do make the best tyre, but for under two thirds the cost you can buy a Porsche approve tyre which really is top premium quality and according to a lot of reviews is better in the wet, that last attribute ticks a big box with me.

I am a better in the dry person :) , I just drive slower in the wet, and we say it rains in the UK, but when you look at it, roads are mainly dry.

these wet tests are standing water tests which you see 10 times a year !

Get familiar with tyre age codes before you buy.
I just replaced 4 Zeros with multi national and they turned out to be 4 years
old and there is nothing i can do about it .
??

My 981 Spyder came shpd with Pirellis. However, as they are a special size (20") I am gusssing that when I do come to replace them, that my choices will be very limited.

My main car is a BMW 330d MSport and that comes with Goodyear Eagle Runflats. These tyres seem to be universally praised on the BMW forums and are renowned for being a lot quieter than the other runflats available. Certainly, I find the ride quality on the Goodyear Eagles to be outstanding.
