If the engine hasn't been run that is your biggest issue everything else is secondary as that will be a big expense if the bearings in the bottom are toast. Disconnect the DME relay and the fuel pump relay. Drain the oil and fill with 10 litres of something you don't mind throwing away again pretty quickly i.e. cheap, drain the fuel tank add a few gallons of whatever you fancy and some redex injection cleaner and remove the fuel lines from the injectors. Remove the plugs and pour a little oil into each cylinder , you will need a tube to get in there , use a torch and a mirror on a stick to help. Turn the engine over clockwise by hand and listen for anything horrible, if all sounds well put your new battery on and turn the engine with the coil disconnected. Crank for thirty seconds and see if you are building oil pressure on the gauge if you are rest for a few minutes and crank again if you have oil presure connect up and try starting it...or just start it and pray! I would also check if the fuel lines spray petrol before connecting the injectors, if you don't like the idea of messing with petrol tow the car to a trusted Independent and get them to do all this.
After it starts listen for noises suggesting all is not well , if it runs well (it might) when you are sure the brakes will stop you drive it a little and report back. You'll need as stated to thoroughly overhaul the brakes, replace the tyres and clean the entire fuel injection system, there are more minor deatails and other issues too but someone else can chip in I'm off to play guitar. Good luck, I'd love to be presented with a fascinating job like that.
