advice - Sqeaking when pressing accelerator

High pitch sqeeking coming from rear of car, only really present when pressing the accelerator. The noise is present when stationary and moving. Noise reduces when air con is on for some reason but is still present. Noise coincided with the car coming back from a service. (rear seal was replaced - NOT the RMS). Could it be clutch related ? especially if they dropped the engine to replace the seal. Any Ideas ?

I would start by checking that the polyrib accessory drive belt is tight. Unusual for it to get quieter when you switch on the aircon - normally that puts more load on the belt and the squeaking gets worse.

Richard is very likely right. I would get this seen to sooner rather than later because if the Polyrib belt (or 'V' belt) comes off or snaps, amongst other things, the coolant pump will no longer operate and your car could overheat in seconds.

It's not an expensive part.

Slight occurence of brain fade last night. The polyrib belt has a sprung tensioner, so there is no adjustment. However, Rodney is right that you need to get it checked out sooner than later.
