Ive got a 2003 996 C4S fitted with the PSE option - Ive disconnected the vacuum pipe that stops the exhaust flap closing between 40 & 65 (ish) MPH and now I can enjoy the full and melodic tones of the flat 6 without interuption - does anyone know of any possible long term damage caused by running with the vacuum pipe disconnected - with my broadest imagination I can see why it should cause grieff but always better to check !! - Thanks for any advice,

Sorry por911t bit of topic here, but whats the range rover sport like?
I am not sure on to get the range rover sport or the porsche jeep as I fancy a jeep aswell as the 911.
sorry I couldnt help about your problem, I have a pse but no option to turn it on or off, just always on :)

No harm done but if the flaps in the exhaust are never changed from one setting to the other its conceivable they may become seized in the very long term

Hi Black911 - yes the Range Rover Sport was ok - build quality a bit iffy - had it 9 months and got my money back + £250 which always makes it a bit sweeter . As a big family bus it was ok - as a selfish indulgence - no . For resale it has to be either black or silver and has to be an HSE with sat nat - get any of these wrong and your a dead man when it comes to resale !

I have a chance of an overfinch looks really sweet, but I might just go for a black porsche and play safe.
Thanks for the review though, may have saved me a huge mistake. :)

The valves might get stuck over time.
Why not just disconnecting the speed signal wire from the PSE relay to stop the cut out...
