Aero kit

Hi guys just a quick question re the options on the 991 GTS

The aero kit with rear spoiler as an option on the car , does it take away the feature of the spoiler popping up over a certain speed ?

If so so does it affect down force on higher speed driving ?

Can you remove this spoiler from a car that has it fitted at the factory and still have the usual spoiler popping up at higher speed ?

Hi
1.) No, according to the configurator, it is still an auto deploying spoiler
2.) Yes, at speed it increases downforce at rear and decreases lift at the front.
3.) Not sure suggest with you consult your PC.
In the earlier 997, the auto-deploying rear spoiler was discarded when the aero kit was fitted.

Clive

Great thanks Clive

i thought i read somewhere that the spoiler was fixed at the rear and did not come up at speed automatically so that is good news as I prefer it to move at speed as opposed to be perman fixed

Definitely fixed on 997.
Porsche staff seem confused too as I was told at a display show in the summer it was fixed on 991 too. However, on the configurator it is definitely described as "Note: The standard Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) remains unchanged".

It looks as though it piggybacks onto the standard spoiler, so this may well answer your 3rd question too.
Regards,

Clive

Hi guys definitely the spoiler is fixed and does not move on 991 had the owner confirm

Also the button to manually raise and lower the spoiler has been removed from the console .

Not sure if it is possible to remove the aero spoiler and return to standard as it seems the motor for lifting the spoiler has gone ??

Maybe it's different on the latest cars, otherwise the Porsche website is providing incorrect information. It's a mystery! [:(]
