AFM?

Keggers

I have an annoying problem almost exactly like this one that just popped up in the 3.2 Carrera section.

http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=186164&mpage=1&key=&#186164

At just over 2k rpm when decellerating or maintaining constant speed (don't notice anything accelerating) the engine seems to miss a little (or judder as James is referring to it) from about 2,200 rpm until it drops below 2,000 rpm. Its nothing terrible, but is annoying. Usually notice it on the open road if this rpm level matches the speed I'm travelling at.

Had already had suspicions re the AFM from reading other posts on here, but as per the suggested solution on the post above, is this also likely to be the cause on my 944? If so, will cleaning the connections inside etc. help or is a new/refurbished AFM the only real solution (in which case I'll probably just put up with it!)?

Cheers

Don't know the answer to your miss fire but if I had to change my AFM it would be replaced with a MAF kit.

If it does it on the way up as well and doesn't tick over from cold it sounds exactly as my S2 which turned out to be a faulty ECU.

Edited for bad grammer (should of listened at school)

Cheers guys. Might pull it out and take a look inside to see if there's any corrossion etc. on the wiper track or wiper which would be causing a problem. From reading through it sounds like its easy enough to adjust the area where the wiper runs across the track so will look at that as well. Definitely is a useful site.

What are the advantages of replacing the AFM with a MAF over a brand new AFM?? is the AFM cheaper? if so by how much? and is the increase in price of a MAF worth it?

It's the difference between a sprung flap and a piece of wire in your inlet - I'm sure you know how bad restrictions are in the inlet.
