Has anyone had aircon fitted /installed to there 944 after purchase? I assume it is possible just curious to how much it was likley to be

This question used to pop up on the MX-5 forum a lot and the general concensus was always to sell a non air-con car and buy one with it already fitted, as retro-fitting was a circa £1 - 1.5k challenge. However, since very few 944s came with air-con, retro-fitting may be a more realistic option.

Personally I'm not a fan of all that extra weight, but if it's your daily driver then I can see why it's a nice to have.

James has hit the nail on the head - very expensive.

A 968 owner had a complete install last year by Cool It down on the south coast and the cost was circa £2000. They are basically the same car so costs will be similar.

Mine has recently been converted to run on 134 A gas,new condensor, seals and some other stuff circa £500.
Must remember to use it now and again to keep it healthy.[&:]
