After switch-off noises

My 1988 Turbo seems to be making extra clicking and whirring noises (on top of the usual)after the turbo fan has stopped. No other symptoms as far as I can make out-any ideas, please?

This may sound odd but try cleaning the contacts on the switches in the door jams. It is common for them to fur up and not make a solid connection causing relays to 'click about a bit' - technical term [:D]

There isn't a Turbo fan as such - but the engine fans will continue to run after switch off if the engine is hot.

You might be hearing the turbo pump. This pumps water around the turbo body after switch off for about 30 seconds to reduce the chance of oil evaporating in the turbo bearings.

The exhaust will click as it cools down as well.

For many years I thought it was the internal alarm sensors detecting me moving about when the alarm was deactivated. Doh! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

At least you didn't go looking for the relay that was being activated by the sensors unlike some people on here :whistles:
