After two weeks away........

I've just returned from a family villa holiday where I was unfortunate enough to be issued with a Renault Megan as a hire car. It was the only down side to the break. On my return home last night, the suitcases were dumped inside the house, the wife and kids settled in front of Corrie and shoot-em-up computer games and then the keys were in my hand!!!! After two weeks I slid in the driver seat turned the key - simultaniously pushing the little button on the dash that makes the exhaust sing and sat there like the Cheshire cat. Half an hour of New Forest "twisties" and a little pony dodging later I pulled back in the drive, with the cheap, gutless, senseless, fat-arsed frog, wiped from my automotive memory.

I know exactly what you mean, I go away on holidays and with work regularly having a hire car. Every time I get back home I realise why I love my 997 soo much.

Yep. I can add to that.
Got home from Mediterranean hols and night flight @2AM. After dropping off bags (and family) in the hall I grabbed the keys and went to the garage...
Opened garage to check all good with the 997 left on trickle charge whilst away. Couldn't resist sitting in car smelling the leather. Ahhh
Considered starting the engine but then it was early-doors so grudgingly after 'bout ten mins went off to bed.
First thing on waking went for a proper spin - was a glorious day having brought the Med weather back with us, obviously!

What a truly wonderful thing to come back to; I now actually have something to look forward to when the holiday ends - know what I mean?
