I'm looking to change the exhaust on my Cayman for something a bit sportier.
Currently looking into getting one made from one of the custome exhaust places .

Does anyone on the forum have an aftermarkert exh or any advice ?

Thanks

I don't know anything specifically about Caymans, but I can recommend Stainless Creations in Falkirk for custom exhaust work.

www.stainless-creations.co.uk seems to be down at the moment, their phone number is 01324 622 832. Good guys with plenty of experience on 968s and 944s, amongst other things.

Do a bit of searching on here http://www.planet-9.com/forums/

The subject of exhausts has been debated to death!

Personally I'd steer well clear of any local fabricators, these guys mostly deal in making up noisy zorsts for boy racer's Corsas. I wouldn't let one of them near my Cayman with a bargepole. For the Cayman I would stick with a well known brand like Milltek, or Tubi or the like. Moreover, do not believe all the claims about extra power. Most of these things might liberate a few extra bhp at the very top of the rev range, but often at the expense of ruining your torque curve. I looked at all of them and decided against.

Best of luck [;)]

If you just want a bit more noise (and I'm pretty sure that's what most aftermarket systems provide) have a look at this thread :

Someone was talking at the Tuesday night meet about a local company who is modifying your existing exhaust to give the PSE sound - its fundamentally pretty simple as you add a bypass pipe to make some of the gas miss the numerous silencing chambers, but you need to know where to take the bypass from - the PSE works in exactly this way. There's several companies on ebay who do it as well, but they seem to be all based in germany.
