Age limit on Porsche Warranty for 987

Good afternoon - potential new 987 owner here (up from an F56 JCW Mini)

Looking at the Porsche Warranty as I have an OPC a couple of miles away but nearest specialist is a lot further

Does it stop at 15yo or can I buy a car that's 14y6m, get the check done and put 2yrs warranty on it ?

Looking forward to some topless action again - but how did so many of them end up without heated seats ??

Not sure on the answer to your question, but the last service has to be OPC. So if yours had its last service elsewhere, then they will have to carry out a full service in addition to the 111 point check.

Knew there'd be a catch ;) - so no I need to add 'last service carried out at an OPC' to my list of requirements - suspect that brings my list of available cars to zero :(

If that's the case then I'd better start looking at what warranties people are using

The Boxster will also need to meet the exact requirements of the PC. I've had mine inspected (for free through PCGB) but a non-Porsche battery flagged up, also non Porsche wiper blades, bulbs, exhaust clamp. All I believe would need to be changed to get the car through the 111 point check. Goodness knows how they would react to a changed head-unit.

Tyres must be matching N-rated too

I think you'll need to find a completely unmolested example. Might be very very difficult.

Let us know how you get on

There is a current thread going on, on a well known Boxster specific forum, about used car warranties which may help you.

I just took out a 3rd party warranty with ‘Motoreasy’. You need to be careful, read the policy closely and challenge as needed and question as needed. Many don’t like them and many do. Just so your research before talking out a policy.

The OPC warranty only runs until a car is 15 years old. You won't get an OPC warranty on a car over 14 years old at the time you apply.
