Thanks to an original contact by Bob Armstrong, the invitation to tag along with region 31, our left hand neighbours, for what could be a very enjoyable day out at the Air Atlantique premises in Coventry, has been extended to the Thames Valley region. Here are the details.
"This visit includes a tour of the work shops and a close up look at some vary special airplanes with their very friendly staff, They have a Dragon Rapide, Dakota and an English Electric Canberra to name a few, for more information see them at www.classicflight.com. On the day we are also invited to take a pleasure flight, depending on numbers it could be in a Dragon, Dakota or smaller. There is a café on site and ample parking.
This visit is Saturday 19th MAY the cost is £5 per head[/b] and the Flights will be £45 not mandatory but a good deal. I need to have bookings in advance so please contact me on
les.day@siemens.com or 01993 703092. Visitors are very welcome I know my dad is very keen. Please bring the family."

I am a keen avaition enthusiast so I am going. If you've never experienced a flight in the Rapide then you really should. A ten minute hop in the Classic Wings Rapide on airshow days at Duxford must be getting on for £35 now, and if, as Les suggests, we get a chance in the D C 3 then that is great value.
