Air-Con Compressor

Hi Richard,

Thank you for your reply. I will give Porsche-Apart a ring tomorrow morning.

One other option the air-con guy offered me was to have mine reconditioned for about £140.

Is this option recommended?

Thanks again ~J

Porsch-Apart are still advertising 996 air-con pumps for £295 in this month's PP. I didn't need one in the end and I'd seriously consider Richard's cheap-skate option.[;)]

A regas should not cost more than £80. There are plenty of aircon specialists who might do it for even less than that.

At £140, and if they give a decent period of warranty, I personally would go for it - but then again I'm a cheapskate.

Hi Richard,

I picked up my 996 earlier today, everything seems to be fine so far and the air con is nice and quiet and very cold. Will test over the weekend and the next few weeks.

There is a 2 year warranty supplied, although I was quoted £140, the job ended up costing £325+tax for the refurb and the labour charge of £95+tax.

Will keep this updated.

J.
