Air con help

Just had a new air con compressor fitted and a re-gas. Does not seem very cold to me and every now and then it blows out hot for 30 seconds or so before returning cold. Any ideas? With thanks Gary

Doesn't sound right. Have you had a leak check where they pressurise the system with Nitrogen to check for leaks? If not i'd start there - quite cheap to have done at an A/C specialist. Also did you change the desiccant cannister? It should be replaced periodically anyway and certainly if you break the system. The presence of moisture in the system will severely hamper it's ability to work efficiently. The desiccant cannister is positioned behind the passenger side light. Earlier this year when I had my car I had a leakdown check which identified a leaking radiator (condensor I think it's called). I replaced that with a new unit (I got mine from Unit 11 for about £120 - they're about £350 new from Porsche), the dessicant cannister and all the necessary seals, had a recharge and the system worked as well as any modern cars climate control system. The system is a full climate control system so it does maintain the cabin at a fixed temp in closed loop and it is not a simple A/C system that just blows out cold air irrespecitve of the cabin temp. I basically kept mine on all the time even when the outside temp was cold and the cabin was kept at a nice constant temp.

Hi Gary Possibly the temperature sensor in the cabin as Scott has said it is a climate control so if the temperature is set higher than the cabin temperature the system would blow hot air to adjust the temperature accordingly. was the compressor fitted buy an Air conditioning specialist ? Wil
