Air con issues on 986 gen2

Have been really enjoying the recent weather with the roof down in my 986.
However the air con when set on Low, pushes out warmish air. I have checked and cleaned the front rads Etc., and after seeing other posts about Kwik Fit air con services took my pride and joy along for a re-gas. They checked the system first and thought it was all ok, then started filling it, only to find fluid was leaking from a joint below the driver’s door. They said there was some green dye in there indicating checks had been made before perhaps. The good thing is that they don’t charge if it doesn’t work (normally £59.95)
Apparently there are two pipes side by side and it could be just a O ring at that joint...
Does anyone have any experience of this particular area? ??

It is funny that you mention this as my car has a leak similar to yours. It is booked in with an aircon specialist for Tuesday next.

The leak on my car is due to corrosion. At some point the pipe has been partially crushed by a jack. It is about 50mm away from the front o/s jacking point. This caused the pipe to be pushed against the body and created a mud trap. This collected mud from the front wheel spray; hence the corrosion. The leak was verified by the aircon guy with an ultrasonic probe and then soap and water during a pressure test. There are two pipes, a fat one and a thin one. The pipe affected on my car is the fat one. The aircon guy said that he has repaired several Porsches with the same issue following jack damage.

I checked the parts list and the joints seem to be behind the wheel arch liner and the engine end under tray. So your issue may be different but the effect is similar. He has quoted two to three hours labour at £60/hr and genuine Porsche pipe at £120 and then refill with refrigerant. Total cost between £330 and £390 incl. VAT

I was about to suggest removing the wheel arch liner to inspect the pipe and joints...you may be lucky with a leaking o-ring, but may be unlucky as hotfrog1 has described...
