Hi all. I am hoping to buy an S2 Cab and have found one which has cruise and air con, 1990 reg.
Can anyone tell me...Do all the air con cars come with Climate control or is that an additional option to the basic air con?
The car I am looking at has reg G576 ESB and apparently belonged to a Porsche Club member...Anyone know it?
Any info would be great.
Regards, SG.

All S2s come with a thermostatically controlled heating system, but very few had air conditioning.

The automatic system has a dial on the right that you can set to your required temperature, but it can't cool lower than the outside ambient temperauture.

The cars with airconditioning have an extra button on the right of this dial that is marked with tiny snowflakes. When pressed, the air conditioner will switch on and will cool the car to whatever temperature you set on the dial.

I suspect a loy of unwary purchasers have bought 944s thinking they had air conditioning, but in fact its the standard automatic heating system.

And further to that there was no climate control option as it is known these days. True climate control manages not just the temperature (including the air-con compressor), but the fan speed and the direction of the heater flow. All the 944 ever did was managed the temperature either using ambient or air-conditioned air as the cold element depending on spec.
