Morning all,
A while ago, I took my 2004 986.2 in for an air con re-gas, and was told that there was a weep on one of the pipe unions, located underside, middle to driver seat side. Whilst in for some other work recently I asked the local independent to look at this and see if it was maybe an O ring. But it turned out to be a small crack in the pipe, which because it was a Porsche original part only, would cost £330 to replace [
] I was later told by my Porsche dealer, this is quite common as the pipes can corrode then split. My question is, has anyone else had this same problem, which seems quite likely! And are there any cheaper replacement or repair options, or do I just have to bite the bullet. For info, on the Porsche air con diagram it is pipe No6 that runs from the front offside down to that middle union. Being a convertible which Ienjoy using top down whenever possible, my air con is doesn’t get a lot of use!
