Speed 2 (fast) is probably fine, as it uses a different circuit.

Mine is a MY 2002, I changed the resistors last summer, but they don't look like that, mine fatter and green, the ones in the photo the earlier 'cigar' type resistor?
The resistors cost about £200 for the pair and it turned into a big job as I had to remove the wheels, bumper, liners and both radiators/condensors to get access. None of the connectors were reusable so I needed to solder new connectors as well.
I would do it again, but I'd allow 1/2 a day to do it.
I believe that the cigar type resistors are easier access and cut in. I assumed the resistor type changed with the 2002 face-lift, but maybe it's one of the seemingly random turbo parts on the C4S?
