Ho hum!
Had to happen sooner or later! My air con has lost it's cool and needs a recharge by the feel of things (these things always come along just when you don't want them to eh?), so what's the concensus - is this an easy job and how much from an OPC should I expect to pay?
Yours hot and bothered[:D]

Rob, alot to do with if the heat exchanger (radiator) is damaged or not... plenty of people do regas for aircon, certainly not a OPC only thing...

Thanks Gary
Guess I'll just have to see if I can find a decent 're-gasser' locally!
In the meantime it's windows open - I knew I should have bought a Cabriolet![:D]

Rob,

What sort of mileage have you done ?

Mine is getting on for 2 yrs old now ( admittedly only 6000 miles ) but the aircon is working a treat, in fact with a setting of 19 deg C on the readout it actually feels too cold in the current muggy climate !

I got conned into spending £250 for regassing at the 2 year service with mileage of about 10K. I was advised that it was necessary and guillable me fell for it. I did not notice any difference. Have had numerous air conditioned Porsches in past and never needed regassing.

My advice is stay away from OPC for gassing. If you travel to the USA you can by a DIY kit in supermarkets for about £25 equivalent.

You can buy a DIY regassing unit from Halfords !! []

I run with aircon on nearly al the time, alot of people do not through the winter and the gas fails... however as I said earlier it maybe a mechanical failure..
My last few Porsches did 24k in two years and no such problems, but again the aircon was on the majority of the time.
