Air Con shushing noise? ('12 Cayman R)

I've just noticed a "Shushing" noise which seems to be coming from the a/c pipes in front passenger side dash area and it can be heard from same area under bonnet. It seems to dissipate when the fan OR the a/c is turned off. Can't say I've ever heard anything like it before, does anyone else's Cayman do it?

Not mine Andy ... or, not that I have noticed. Sure it isn't the tyres sliding ?? [:)] Sorry I can't help [;)]

I've not noticed this on my CS Andy. As Colin says, an aircon re-gas might be in order as a first stop but I can't really see the link with the fan being turned off unless this also shuts down the aircon pump, which would seem logical. Keep us posted if you get a result. Jeff

Like others I've never noticed the sound that you mention, the area it appears to be coming from is where the pollen filter is situated and also it may possible that some dry leaves have somehow got into the area of the filter or something in the LH Side ducting. If A/C is switched off then it will disengage the electro-magnetic clutch on the air pump in all the systems I've looked at but the fan switch is just for the fan as far as I'm aware.

PATS lightweight Spyder concept with no AC, no PDK, no electric seats and no PCM :) at least it's sorted but these always fail and then fail and then fail again and then people cannot be arsed to change them and then the AC smells like dead cats. never keep a car longer than 4 years with AC or tech imo ;-)

Mine is not 3 yet!! Although I wouldn't have a road car without air con. Well worth it in the summer :)
