Air con specialists in MK

Can anyone recommend an air conditioning specialist in the MK area?

My Boxster has suddenly decided not to cool and I suspect a leak - the fans, etc seem to work OK. Not sure a simple re-gas is worth the money - needs someone who can check the pressure and trace the leak. And preferably someone who isn't going to ask "where's the engine, chief?" when they open either boot!

Chris,

I took my 964 down to RPM in Cheddington last Saturday for a a/c check. They use a mobile guy who is based in Guildford so I suspect he doesn't come this way too often. It might be worth giving Darren or Ollie a call though (01296 661881).

He used a little electronic sniffer to seek out a leak I have on my compressor and it sounds like that's exactly what you need to check it out.

Kwik Fit are OK if you just want a regas but they won't attempt to find any leaks - other than to perhaps tell you that you've got one!!!

Regards

Dave

When I had an a/c problem on my old Tigra, the local garage that I always use brought in an outsider to fix it. In the end, he replaced every single component of the system - it worked for a while and has now stopped again. Cost me £700 - about half the car's value!

Took the Boxster into OPC Silverstone on Friday in the hope it only needed a regas, but it turns out I have a leak in the near-side condenser. Doesn't surprise me too much as that's where the dead bird ended up! Estimate is circa £600 so its going to be a good test of the Tesco warranty...

Dead bird! []
Sounds more like an insurance claim than a warranty claim [8|]
