Air Cooled Water Leak?

Hi,

Picked up my 993 Cab on Wednesday -further updates to come [:)]

Took it for its first real drive today, and once I stopped and parked, I noticed fluid dripping from the rear of the nearside wheelarch. It does not smell like petrol, possibly is water based?

Any ideas on what this might be?

Cheers

Did you have the air conditioning on? Not sure where the condenser is, but sounds like condensation dripping off that. Absolutely nothing to worry about if so. I *think* the condensor is near the front nearside wheelarch, but would need to confirm.

Oo, just remembered, I think the windscreen washer fluid bottle is in the same area.

Cheers

Hi -

The car does not have airco, although the effect is similar

I was thinking of the washer, as today was the first time I have used the windscreen wash

Definately looks like it was water, as the small puddle has evaporated, leaving no residue....

Just have to drive it some more and see what happens [:)]

Hi - I've been reading about the difficulties of replacing the Windscreen Washer reservoir tank

Could a broken / cracked washer tank be the cause of this?

Pete

Hi,

Not had the car long enough to open the bonnet to see how full the washer tank is [:)] I'll have a look tonight

There was no "stain" on the garage floor once the fluid had evaporated, but it did smell of something ( cue strange looks for sniffing the washer bottle....)

cheers

Pete
