pipercross /.... http://www.thepipercrossshop.co.uk/paneldisplay.asp?model=436&kit=2037
anybody else had one of these fitted ... any problems ? thanks

Stick to the paper rather than foam design and ideally a decent brand like BMC or K and N. For a 986 there is a slight gain to be had in terms of throttle response and peak power plus an increase of intake sound. Not worth it for a 987 3.2 though, the air filter is already plenty big enough.

Of those who have fitted oiled filters to gain a few extra HP I know many that have regretted it having had MAF issues.

If you are set on fitting one use an airline and cloths to remove as much of the oil as possible.

Thanks guys, i have put on another post, the k & n hadn't effected the maf at all it was an o2 sensor problem , but i have a piper cross maf friendly air filter on its way , they use them in various racing cars around the world thanks

Just to let everybody know, i have now fitted the filter , it sounds amazing and does give you just that little bit more performance
it also only takes around 5 minuets to do and you never have to fork out for an air filter again so i advise anybody with a car that they are thinking of using for more then a year get a performance filter!
if anybody does need help fitting one just ask its the easiest job in the world!
