The scuff bit involves mixing a base liquid with a lighter/darker shade (my seats are sort of navy, so I bought a dark blue kit), and a matt/gloss finish, to end up with something that matches the leather. This takes 5/10 minutes, depending; I was lucky in that the base colour is almost the same as the leather colour.
Then I applied the stain as instructed, and now you can just see where the touch-up was done, if the light falls in the right direction. I did this a few years back - the seat had water damage as well as scuff marks from me sliding over the bolster - and I doubt whether anyone would notice it even now, unless I pointed it out.
The matching leather cleaner/restorer has taken off very small amounts of the stain - just the excess it seems, but the results are still good. And, as the cleaner ' fills in' the creases (it really appears to !), and generally smooths out any small stained areas, all is still looking good.
Going back to the leather smell bit, my leather jacket still smells of leather as a result of the cleaning a month or so ago, so it does last - mind you, the sight of me smelling the jacket in the cupboard just now might have seemed a bit strange !
Gosh, I can be a bit verbose at times, but I hope that this helps.
