Air Suspension & PASM

I'm going to order a new Cayenne Diesel in the next couple of weeks and wondered if Air and PASM was needed? The car I test drove was on 21" wheels with Air and PASM and rode beautifully although I'm probably going to stick with the standard 18". The sales guy says on smaller wheels it's really not needed but they do not have a tester without and I've read some reports that say Air really makes a difference.
 
I would suggest that you do not need the air .
I do not have it on my "S" (old model) and it is a most comfortable car .
Maybe there are circumstances when it would be of use ? ? ?
 
Many thanks! Seems like there are a variety of differing opinions. I'm only going to use the car on the road so no special circumstances.
 
I drove a Diesel the other week for a couple of days without air and, I think, with 20" wheels, found it very smooth. And so did my good lady.
