Airbag warning light and fault code 0131

[FONT=arial"]I own a 986, model year 1999. The airbag light appeared recently and has stayed on ever since, only going off when the ignition is turned off. I took the car to my local indy in Edinburgh and he plugged in his diagnostic computer. The system returned a fault code 0131, but did not have a description. He cleared the fault a couple of times but it always re-appeared. We disconnected the battery, left it for around 10 minutes and re-connected it. Still the error light appeared and fault code 0131.
There are no unusual circumstances surrounding the appearance of the airbag warning light. I use the car every day to go to work, and on this occasion I drove to work, parked the car, and switched the engine off, removing the ignition key. Twenty minutes later I returned to the car, switched the ignition on, started the engine, and all the warning/check lights cleared apart from the airbag light.

1. Can anybody help decipher the code 0131??
2. Does anyone have experience of this occurrence?

Any helpful suggestions appreciated!! We don't think the code is related to an STD[;)]

The diagnostic manual says:

Fault codes above 100

Diagnostic conditions:
Ignition on

Possible cause of fault:
Triggering unit for airbag faulty

Note!
Fault codes 100 and higher are internal control module faults. The stored faults cannot be erased.

What is unusual is that they were able to clear the fault code.
