Aircon chiller

Just returned from a few days away in my C4S with the family. Has performed as a comfy GT car brilliantly ( as expected!)

One thing I noticed today was that when I had the aircon button switched off it felt as though the air was being chilled and a lot dryer... When the aircon button was switched on the air was no where near as cold and seems more humid!

The aircon was supposed to have been re-gased before I bought the car... Any ideas why this button is doing the opposite of what it's supposed to?!
