Hi

I had a number for a company that pick up repair your compressor for your climate then return for fitting.

Problem is I cannot for the life of me remember where I have put their telephone number.

I think they where somewhere on the south coast. Anyone shed any light on it, or has used anyone they can recommend as secondhand these are not cheap and new they are, well Expensive!!!![]

Cheers

Was it 'Cool it'? I think they are on the south coast

The only other aircon specialists I know are

www.airconone.co.uk

and perhaps the best named compay in the world:

Stiff Nipples Air Conditioning Telephone: 020 87972690 [:D][:D][:D]

I have a complete aircon system in my garage that was working well on R12 until the engine came out. The receiver/drier will be cream crackered through being exposed to air but the rest is good. The evporator is in the car still as I think it's a 'mare to get out.

I need to check with the guy doing my engine work if he wants any of it as he was buying an S2 as a courtesy car and it had a/c that may not have been working but if he doesn't then it's available. Condenser looked OK when it came out, compressor similar but very dirty.

Hi.

Try 'Motorclimate' in Birmingham - tel: 0121 766 5006. They quoted me £400 to rebuild compressor and charged £350 for parts and labour to replace condenser and drier very recently. (all plus VAT). Cheapest I found and the service manager is ex Porsche specialists.

Thanks for the info guys.

I found the number in the end I was looking for, after searching for hours.

BBA Remanufacturing. They will pick up the compressor deliver it back to the garage I am having the work done, with a 2 year warranty for £350 for the compressor, £7.50 each way for pick up and postage.

If anyone else needs them they are on 01634 230055 ask for Mike. Very helpful and do stacks of other stuff I think, alternators etc etc.

Unfortunately repair list has grown since taking it to my local Porsche Specialist for its 12,000 mile service.

Front OS shock leaking, so rebuild both front MO30's
All rear brake pipes need replacing.
New Rear brake pads.
Slight leak to power steering bottle.
New Anti roll bar bushes on front (the usual contaminated with oil).
New Dis Cap and Rotor arm and plug lead.
Bung for front of Distributor.
New rear wiper.
And then I suppose I will need re-alighnment after shocks have been done???

Obviously plus the aircon comp rebuild and then regas.

Was going to buy Andrews Promax level 2 kit this month but may have to wait [:(]

Thanks for your comments once again.

Cheers
Lee
