Aircon Pulley Bearing

Afternoon All.

Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the bearing in the air conditioning compressor pulley of a 997?

The compressor is a Denso 7SBU16C / 447220-8266. I have read (here:air_conditioner_bearings_2016_en.pdf (ntn-snr.com)) that the bearing for a 7SBU16C cannot be replaced and I just wondered whether any of you gurus could confirm this before I invest in a new compressor? I have investigated repair kits but they seem to be more expensive that a new compressor!

Update: Whilst contemplating this further, I have done a pressure test on the aircon system. I previously had a leak and put some sealant in last summer to try to seal the o-rings. Gas has escaped since then and in the meantime (winter) I have not bothered as it has not been hot. Also, owing to the compressor making a noise, I've had the car on Eco ever since (i.e. aircon off) as I didn't want it to disintegrate.

So this evening's pressure test, to my surprise, showed 4 bar of pressure at both high and low pressure valves. I thought maybe the system had just equalised as it has not been used for so long but nonetheless was surprised to see that much pressure. Maybe the leak is fixed. However, when I started the car and engaged the aircon (clutch working properly, everything spinning, usual noise from the compressor), nothing changed in terms of pressure, low vs high. This strongly suggests to me that in fact, the compressor has given it up and is not compressing.

Would anybody be able to confirm this deduction?

Hi, Ive just Googled Aircon pressures and I dont think yours are right, you have the same pressure in the H and L at 4 bar, looks like they should be: 'The system should be about 25 to 30 psi on the low side and 200 to 250 psi on the high side.' Perhaps do a bit more research, I may have got this all wrong!
