Airconditioning

I've just bought a 964 C2 without aircon. I am wondering whether anyone can recommend a specialist that can retro fit it.
Regards,
Mario

I think the general consensus on this is that the cost of retrofitting aircon is prohibitive.
Sorry. Not very helpful I know.
Good luck

Hi,

I have a 993 C2 on which i have had air conditioning fitted. It was an excellent job, it works really well BUT it was very expensive (the best part of £2.5k)... I have had the 99 since 1999, had the job done 3 years ago, and the warm days are thoroughly bearable now.

I am NOT connected to the company either, and have nothing to gain from recommending them. JZ Machtech were impressed with the installation etc, when they saw it when the 993 went in for its annual service. In fact, they asked me who had done the job, so that they could tell another 993 owner.

The company is based in Woking, Surrey, and is called Reader Air

Interestingly, the original price of the Air Con option in 1995 was 2375 pounds, so (taking account of inflation and high cost of retro fit) you probably got a bargin!

There's a complete aircon kit on ebay at the moment. Presumably from a scrapped car. It could save you a lot of money, especially the control unit for the dash. Just do a search on Porsche 964 in the car parts section.

The link is here. From the location, I'm guessing that it's at RPM in Cheddington. A rare opportunity if you're looking to add it.
