Alarm fault codes

I have been trying to track down an intermittant fault with my PA1000 alarm system and have spoken to a technician at Hamilton and Palmer. I had noticed that on occasion when remote unlocking the car the indicators would flash multiple times (indicating the alarm had sounded at some point). Thought I would pass on a useful diagnostic test that shows what has caused the alarm to be triggered:

Unlock the car, turn the ignition on, press the remote fob lock button once then immediately the fob unlock button three times. The system internal sounder beeps each time you press the buttons. The system then sets off a series of flashes on the red alarm led to identify what triggered the alarm:
2 flashes - doors
3 flashes - bonnet
4 flashes - boot
5 flashes - ultrasonic sensors
6 flashes - ignition

The flash sequence repeats 3 times with a bleep in between.

Seems that I have a door sensor fault and indeed I had noticed on occasion that the passenger door courtesy light does not come on when opening just that door. The alarm is linked through the door switch. Will have to investigate further...........

Stewart,

if you want to send me a pm I can let you have a copy of the PA1000 Alarm instructions, as it lists these and few other features.
