As title suggests really. Twice int he past week my alarm has gone off for no reason, 2am this morning and it's bloody loud! Need to get it sorted. Any advice on where to start I'm terrible with vehicle electrics, in fact electrics in general. Any help duly appreciated

Seems to yes. Locks and get a small beep about a second later to confirm - I presume they all do this, I'm sure my C4S did. Also I can open close windows and sunroof from the fob with no issues.

Unfortunately no, don;t have a durametric - if I did would this show an error code leading me to the source of the issue?

Thanks for your help

Hi Jon,

Hope you're still enjoying the car despite the current prob....!

What is condition of battery? Do you keep it on maintenance charger when not using it?

Mine went flat once, windows dropped, spoiler raised, alarm went off.... not ideal if you were parked in an open space & it rained.....

If you have had any of the above 'symptoms' could be a voltage drop & alarm senses the detection!!

As Paul says, first thing to do is check the battery voltage. Failing that, it is most likely to be the interior monitoring sensor, or possibly the tilt sensor. A diagnostic check would show what is wrong, as it records faults, and the alarm events, and would tell you what set it off.

Car is driven everyday with no other signs of battery but will get that checked out first before a diagnostic - cheers for the info

PS - Yep still loving the car, by far the best car in terms of driving that I have had, every journey is fun and still not bored of the speed!!!!

Jon,

I only get a beep if something is not closed properly or I 'double' click the fob to turn off internal movement sensor!

Regards

Paul

Cheers Paul that's interesting. Do you guys think this beep is indicating an issue on lock that could be causing my alarm to play up?

A single beep is not a system fault condition. It is caused by an open compartment, lid, door, radio contact, etc. if it were a double-beep, that would be an indication of a system fault.

Did it start happening immediately after your Sony system was fitted?

Edit: the beep won't be anything to do with the false alarms.
