Alarm query ("System 1"?)

Hi,

I have an issue with my alarm in that the interior ultrasonic sensors (mounted either end of dashboard) do not seem to be working. I have spoken to Hamilton and Palmer who installed the alarm in 1995 and they say that it is a "System 1" alarm and that there is a module for the sensors on which I need to check the wiring. Anyone know where this is likely to be? I have found the alarm box in the boot but not the sensor module.

Thanks

In the boot? Where did you find it there? All the ones I've ever heard of fitted by H&P were under the driver's seat along with the central locking module. The siren tends to be in the engine bay. The H&P box for mine is made from ridged, black metal, is the one you've found in the boot the same?

It's in the boot, mounted in the centre near the fuse box. It's a black plastic box about the size of a cigarette box.

On ours we have the following setup..

Siren in the Engine Bay.
Brain in a black box under the Drivers Seat (not Passenger as previous stated)
Sunroof closure module passenger footwell (behind wheelarch carpet)
Central locking and sensor modules Drivers footwell (behind wheelarch carpet)?

Hope this gives you some ideas of where to look..

Thanks very much. Will have a rummage later. Can you give me a clue what the sensor module looks like?

...

Was getting interested then until I read your footer, Adam.
Presumably this is for the Cab roof?
(Was about to go out and test what happens if I lock car with sunroof open).

What does this module look like? - I have a grey plastic box (about size of a fag packet) behind the passenger wheel arch carpet. Always wondered what this is.

Yes. sorry.. perhaps could have been a little clearer...

Our Cab has a total closure upgrade...

Normal arming - Windows close, Roof closes, Sensors arm, Doors Lock.
Part arming, Windows and roof stay as is, interior senors do not arm, doors then lock etc..
If I had my way, the interia senors wouldnt be ultra sonic, but Microwave/Proximity then this could always arm..

Each of the modules are little grey boxes slightly larger than a fag packet, jamed around the heater regulartor motors, in the footwells, the reaosn I know is I have just had to replace both these motors, along with the recirculation motor not so long ago..

Adam.

Sorry to mislead everyone.. but got confused between my 3.2 and 993..

Alarm Brain is under the DRIVERS seat in a tamper proof (resistant [8|]) metal box, and not along side the ECU..

To the side of the Brain is a small grey box, which I beleive is teh module for the Ultra Sonics.

Modules in the footwells control things like, Central Locking, Windows, Sunroof, Cab Hood etc..
Not 100% sure if they can do more than one thing per module.. don't think so..?
