Can anyone let me know how to check to see if the siren is working on the alarm apart from setting the alarm and putting a brick through the window.I have a sneaky feeling that the siren is not working alarm sets perfect also if you leave parcel or console box ajar the warning sound sounds.
Kind regards Brian

I found out on mine (so im assuming yours will to), if you lock the car with the fob then try opening the windows with the key in the door. It set my alarm off when i tried it.

I think most early 996's do that Chris, but not the later ones.

Brian - why not try leaving the windows wide open when you lock the car, and after the alarm has set (LED in windscreen single-flashing at 2 sec intervals) lean inside to trigger the motion sensor.

Thinking about it again, if you unlock the door with the key you have 10 seconds to get the key in the ignition and switched on or the alarm will go off.
