Alarm

This is a simple question and I am probablystupid, but Iam taking a trip to France via Caen next week. Don't want to have alarm going and flatten battery, but my alarm just self sets and there is nothing in handbook to help. Normally take the shuttle, so have not had this problem before.

Roger,

I think that if you quickly press the locking button on the vehicle key twice within 2 seconds the interior surveillance system and inclination sensor are switched off temporarily.

On my 2009 gen 2 I have to press once to lock the car then hold the button down again within a second until the indicators give a long flash, car is then locked and the doors alarmed but sensors turned off.

Hope this helps, have a good trip!

As Motorhead says that is the advice per the manual:-

Deactivating the passenger compartment
monitoring system for one locking
process
If a person or animal remains in the car while it is
locked, the passenger compartment monitoring
system must be switched off.
f Quickly lock car twice.
The doors are locked but can be opened from
the inside:
1. Pull inner door handle once to unlock door
lock.
2. Pull inner door handle again to open door.
Note
f Inform any person remaining in the car that the
alarm system will be triggered if the door is
opened.
No mention though if the tilt sensors are deactivated

Whilst I'm lucky that no one can work out how to open my doors at the moment.
When I was in the Porsche on a ferry I never actually locked it.
My valuables were in the ships cabin with me and the car deck is sealed off from passengers during the crossing.
Most people have way to many things going on to be looking through my car and I knew that the alarm was definitely off.

I also worked on the fact that no one could steal the car anyway [:D]

Thanks all for help, an on line search pulled up an official Porsche workshop manual, but only for 2011, it states that two quick presses of key fob, isolates both the interior sensors and jacking sensors, but my 2008 handbook does not mention the jacking sensors, any way two presses it is! and hope it works and cuts every thing off.
not locking the car will not work, as central locking and alarm activate automatically once doors are shut.
