Car alarm sirens are annoying when they disturb neighbours and there is a school of thought that says that most people ignore them so there is little use in having one. My 993's Cat 1 system immobiliser works OK (the important thing) but the siren does not go off, though the lights flash as expected. The horn doesn't even sound when the car is opened from the inside when locked - I understood that was what happened with the Porsche-fitted system before any aftermarket system is added.
I'd prefer the car makes enough noise to deter the scumbags, however. I have heard that there the siren may be reconnectable somewhere the engine bay - has anybody else found this switch/connection/fuse or could give me a clue about where to look first? After a brief look (it's been dark when I've been at home since discovering this), I'm assuming it isn't in the fuse box...
Thanks
James
