Having just stripped out and cleaned the interior of the Targa doors--I am now re assembling with new interior door panels--which really look the part--much better than the 15 yea rold ones.
Having now got all of the locks and window mechanism back nto the door--I am now trying to align the window frame to allow the windo to go up and down correctly.
I now have a choice of two settings--one that will allow the windo to retract to the bottom--but not go up more than about 2 inches--the other setting will allow the windo to go all the way up--but it will only retract to about 2 inches extended above the door.
There are --from what I can see 4 points to adjust from--
the base of the front frame (my car is a Targe so the frame is split)
the two screws at the top of the rear support
the one screw at the bottom of the rear support
and the rear screw on the rail that takes the single roller from the electric window scissors.
I ahve tried slackening everything off and then trying to tighten with the window at various points--is there a more systematic way than the trial and error that I am applying at the moment.
Help and advice will be gratefully received.
Many thanks
Steve
