Just got back from skiing to have my ALL red 987 delivered.
Air intakes, roll bar etc colour coded. Looks and drives fantastically even around the track.

Sports adaptive seats are the best seats I have ever sat in. Fire exstinguisher fits under the drivers seat. Red of course!! Not the seats, which are black leather.

Track Star with speed detector and Tom Tom satellite navigation make this easily the best car I have ever owned.

Its is absolutely stunning and I am so glad that I did not waste the extra cash on a C4S.

Now just waiting for Dension to link up my iPod!!!!

Heeeey! Great stuff[:D]

If you don't mind the question, how much was the colour coding? Where/who did it?

When I mentioned painting the intakes body colour at an OPC I was definitely looked at as if I was the craziest person they had ever seen...

(...OK maybe it wasn't just because of the intakes[;)])

The extra for a C4S, new or used is no laughing matter - I can not imagine what extra value a 996 would offer over a new 987 S unless you are in TT or GT territory and then you have totally different goal posts.

Looking forward to seeing the pics too! Sounds stunning.

I will take some this W/E after England has stuffed Scotland!!!

Colour coding was done by a friend of mine so cannot give you a price but it makes ALL the difference.

Used to have a Guards Red 944S but this colour is much brighter and seems to be deeper. Presumably technowlegy has changed in fifteen years.

Having researched sat nav for two weeks it seemed that TOM TOM was the best. Our IT department in the hospital is all TOM TOM so I thought that it would be foolish to buy anything else.

You can also run it off your mobile phone!!!!!

I used Total PDA and GPS in Scotland who seemed the most knowledgeable as I wanted post code acess. You can also download cameras etc into TOM TOM.

Sorry about the spelling but don't understand Netscape!!

Hopefully you will see the pics in colour. Better colour if viewed through Photoshop.

Apparently I can't upload more than one photo so that's it

[8D]Looks very nice in Guards ... How do you like it so far?

With the sports adaptive seats and the very selective extras it is undoubtedly the best motor I have ever driven or owned. It is even better than a 996 C4S because it has saved me £30k+. It actually looks much more agressive than the old model and may have been even better with a 340 BHP upgrade like RUF put in.

I cannot find a single thing to fault this remarkable car and the noise is superb. Red with black interior will soon be back witha vengeance when fashion changes.

Sorry to go on like the ramblings of a mad man but it is the dogs doodaas.

Looks bl**dy lovely, nearly called the dealer to try to change to Guards Red after the recent 5th gear, nice colour coded vents too.

If you feel like spoiling us with some more photos (please do) try hosting them at

May seems to be getting further away...

Tom .

Stunning car what caught my eye was the Fiat 500 behind your car they are fun fun fun to driveI used to own a few many years ago, once got stopped for speeding and was let off as the officer said it was impossiple to do that speed in a 500,enjoy your car .

Brian

There are not many cars that make a Boxster and a TT look like HGV's but that Fiat is one! My old neighbour had a Fiat 126 and I could peer into it through the sunroof while sitting on my bike - I was 7 at the time!!

Tom, did you get this done as a factory built option? or did it go on collection to your local paintshop for a few days to be done?

Interesting!

I have to say that it looks considerably better than with the silver trim (I think). Mine should be having the paperwork done any day soon, there can only be 9 weeks left till delivery. I think I will be looking into doing a similar thing once I collect mine but I will reserve judgement till I pick it up.

Replacing my '02 Gards Red with an '05 Guards Red (S)
