All stickered and ready to go!

Well, only 7 working days to go before our MegaHoon jaunt down the Alps to Monaco and, as we will be doing some of the old Monte Carlo Rally roads and, as I have a classic-ish kinda Porsche... well, it seemed a shame not to! [8D]

Blimey, 45 hits and not one single comment ... most people love it ... the wife hates it! [;)]

Cheers Richard.

Some of the other guys were worried about putting decals on the cars for fear of attracting the gendarme's attention ... but then' as someone else pointed out:

"so a convoy of "unstickered" Porsches, Astons, Ferraris, TVRs, Lotus and a Mosler chucked in for good measure, making significant progress down the Peage ISN'T going to attract attention?"

[:D]

Absolutely gorgeous. Do you have to protect the paintwork so its not damaged when you peel them off ?

Nope, although it has got a hefty layer of Zymol on anyway ... just need to get a hairdryer on them to peel them off and take it gently.

There is no accounting for taste! You like it and that's all that matters. I run around with this stuck on my car! Any other unusual decorations out there?

Mike,

I like the look of the Supersport decal, where did you get them?????
I have a SSE Cab in dark blue, they should look good on it

Please let me know.

Regards

I like it - the red Fuchs wheels go particularly well with the selection of decals you have got!

Thanks Russ - the red wheels and Carrera are it's usual attire. The rest are just purely for the trip down to Monaco :)

Here's what it looks like normally ...

It looks fantastic. I'm having to design Martini stripes from scratch for my Targa because no one makes them any more. I've got a friendly vinyl company who's going to make them up from my design, but it's slow work.

burriana,
What's the event your doing? Is there a weblink with more info?

BTW- the decals look cool, very Monte Carlo!

It's a PistonHeads trip. A week hoon down through France, into the Alps, then drop down for two nights in Monaco, bit of a drive around the old Monte Carlo Rally roads, then back up the Alps and across France.

I did the inaugural MegaHoon two years ago in the Ferrari and it was a fantastic trip. The organisation is impecable and the list of cars is also pretty impressive, we have the usual Porsches, Ferraris, TVRs, Lotus as well as a few Astons (inc a Vanquish!) and even a Mosler!

Not sure how you post a link on this forum but type this into your browser:

Then this is the link to the EuroHoon general forum on P.Heads:

I have been toying with this idea for my silver 993 although rather along the lines of a 936 stripe rather than the production type. Be interested to see what you are proposing.

Richard

I would love to have the Martini stripes on mine, but I thought that the cost in getting them done would be a fortune ... then there's the fitting them on straight! [&:]

I'll post some pics when I get it done.. It may be after winter to be quite honest.
Once I've got the design done, it's actually very cheap to get the vinyls created. You're right though, putting them on is the scary thing... As my mum used to say - measure twice, cut once!
Richard - I think a 936 stripe would look amazing on a silver 993.. If I manage to get the design technique sorted out, I'll pass on the details to you!

Adam,

I am told that the originals came from Germany 20 years or so ago. The text was printed onto clear vinyl. However, they deteriorated over time and were unusable. These are exact copies of the original graphic but in matte black vinyl.
Email me if you want to know more.
