Alloy Wheel Crests

Sorry I know its been covered before but I cannot locate the thread, just had to have 2 nearly new tyres replaced due to nails ( either someone doesnt like me or Ive been unlucky - Ill go for the latter ) ( Michelin Pro Sports I went for ) and the coloured crests in the middle which have seen far better days cannot be put back on due to the rust, glue etc on the inside , so as Ive just shelled out for 2 new tyres why not go for some new centres.

I think I prefer the black/white ones seen on a thread somewhere in preference to the current coloured centres, where can I get these from and how much ? as my local OPC has stated ' we dont stock those and carnt currently get them ' is he having a laugh.

If anybody has a spare set then let me know

Dont stock em hahaha. I got my Coloured crested centers for my S2 from OPC in Reading for £100+VAT.
Give them a call, black and white ones should be cheaper!

Cheers for the links Paul ( centres taken out by the tyre fitter ) and they just dont fit flush and are very badly corroded on the inside so its time to replace them , new tyres just emphasized the fact []

I got my black & silver ones from eBay for £26 + £3 delivery. Seller was called tyson997 but he doesn't have any listed just now.

I posted a before and after pic in a previous thread (as below) I also got mine off e-bay and prefer the 'plain' ones as oppose to the original coloured ones.
Fen, are yours alloy or plastic? If alloy you did well.

No, they are plastic but still a genuine part. Plastic is lighter anyway []

Get those nasty hammer-on weights removed immediately and get the finish touched up before your nice rims start rusting...[]

Next time insist the fitters use stick-ons inside the rims.[]

Quite surprised to find at the OPC that the Black/Silver ones were £29.34 + Vat ( Plastic ) and the coloured metal ones £ 17.41 + Vat . I did ask him to clarify this as yesterday an OPC had stated they coudnt be got ! - anyway ordered the colours ( cheapskate )

I agree 100% with you. I haven't had to change the tyres since I bought the car. I guess there's nothing stopping me getting them balanced!
The rims are well due for a refurb. I was going to wait until I need new tyres and arrive at the croossroads of refurb v alloy change. Although I do think that the D90's are a good looking wheel, cup1's are made for it!
Not quite so much money v alot more money! Funny how you can talk yourself into that 'little' etc.[]

Ok what else would you call the oxydation of the metal???

When your paint starts to blister its because the bloom (rust)(oxydation) has pushed it off.

It got to the metal because Mr Quickfit hammered a nice clip-on weight through the paint and lacquer....
