Alloy wheel refurbishing

I just used OPC (Bolton) to repair mine. Not a full refurb but they did a fantastic job and the 3 they did look like new. There were 2 thumbnail size nicks in 2 but my front nearside had been kerbed (not by me!) and scratched for 1/3 of the way round. They have someone attend there every Wednesday to do this for them, it isn't done in house. I presume other OPCs would offer a similar service. It was about £70 a wheel less PCGB discount.

second for lepsons, they have done 4 sets for me, no problems, they can even straighten small buckles

I would recommend 'Spit and Polish' in Tonbridge.

They will actually refurb the whole wheel rather than just do the 'face' of the wheel as the mobile refurbishing people do. You will find details on the internet and it is not that far from the M25 south of London.

I would second "specialised paint" in reading. They did mine (plus front PU) and did a very good job. Jason

I can recommend Lepsons, they are in Northampton but do a courier service. Turned round 4 diamond polished alloys for me with a black painted inner in a week. They looked brand new when I got them back.

That's exactly what I need doing- if you don't mind saying, what did they charge you for both jobs?

Robert,

I am not sure of the price at this moment in time .... I will take a look through my receipts tonight. Specialised Paint will provide 10% discount to PCGB members. The PU is a standard price, as they do many of them. The alloy price will depend on what you need doing. I had mine acid dipped and re-painted ... and wanted them back to "concours" standard.

Suggest you give them a call and discuss what you want. You need to be specific about the quality of the finish you expect on your alloys so that there are no differences in expectations when you get them back.

I was very pleased with the final outcome.

Jason

Thanks- I've just given them a call- £85 per wheel, and £379 for the PU, all plus VAT, but then as you say less 10% pcgb discount. They said this would be OE finish on the wheels, inside and out.

I used Specialised a few years ago for my 993- absolutely delighted!

I will have to see if I can get it past 'the Finance Committee" [8|]

I used "Wicked Wheels" they were very good and around £80 a wheel.....they look like new and also have a mobile van type service
