Alloy wheels for a 1986 944 lux

Hi guys,

I will apologise now for posting another thread related to alloy wheels but Im struggling to find a website which will narrow down the range of alloys which will fit an '86 944.

During my cars previous MOT it got advisories on 3 of the tyres and therefore I will be tempted to get a wheel and tyre package next. I currently have 16" teledials and while they have grown on me, im pretty sure I will want to change them soon.

A lot of the alloy wheel websites which I have checked out seem to generate no results when you narrow the make and model of the car.

Does anyone know of any sites which are quite comprehensive in relation to alloys which fit a 944?

Kind regards

Neil.

There's a thread in the FAQ's in this forum

http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=403251

start there - gives you offsets you need (PCD is 130?)

By & large, I'd suggest you stick with OE Porsche rims & you won't go far wrong (just not early Boxster ones, they just look wrong! [;)]) - and 911 wheels generally are too narrow in the fronts, so make the car understeery.

Youre not going to get generic wheels that will fit Im afraid. In most cases the 130mm PCD is simply too large to be accomodated by a generic 'drill me when you know' wheel that many firms supply. If it is a 1986 model then the offset will be ET23; if its a 1987 car registered in 1986 then itll be ET52 (on a nominal 7" wheel). 'Newer' Porsche wheel such as the 6" Boxster wheel that Paul have mentioned will only fit the 52.3mm cars.
