I came across this new company in East -Kilbride called The Wheel Specialist .Was very impressed in the set up they do powder coating in Black. White. Silver Two tone and Anthersite look .A smart modern unit with all the gear and they do all the work in 1 day take tyres off powder coat the whole wheel inside as well .balance, new valves .It is a franchice business the first in Scotland the owner John Grove was telling me they advertise in the PP and offer members 25% discount off there usual price of £295 ie £225 As said was very impressed and he told me he has been approached by Porsche Glasgow to quote for work .I have always used Whicked Wheels in the past but this is at a differant level .If there is enough interest I think we could get a bit more discount and perhaps arrange a visit to see the place and see the work .

I would be interested - definitely as my boxster wheels all have corrosion.....put me down as a definite.

I will approach the company and say I have 3 potential customers and ask what they can do price wise with the potential for more business .

I have been to see this company today and they are very keen to build up there business and have offered a SPECIAL deal to all members who use them ...I have negotiated a discount of 33% of there list price which brings the price to approx £200 inc this is for 17"/ 18" wheels other sizes would be approx £5 extra which is great value .In order for this to work to our advantage anyone wanting to see the place or go ahead with the work it would be better to come through myself so we can say we have given you X amount off custom as opposed to individuals just getting the usual 25% which they offer to clubs

brian, I'm out the country until approx 19th of the month - but happy to get them done the following week (beginning 22nd June)...I'll give you a call when I get back but will definitely go ahead.....thanks for organising this brian [:)]

I am going ahead next week with mine ..willl let then know off another customer wanting work done

Update on the wheels ...I have had the wheels done and look great and after a few niggles they are fine to be fair to the guys they agreed that the first attempt was not up to standard and did them again ,no hassle and I still have to pay them for the work no phone calls chasing for money very professional and for what they do a fair price ......so if you are interested just let me know and i will remind him this is another PCGB recommend

Brian, I'm going away on Saturday for a couple of weeks but might try to get in to speak to them this week and maybe book it in for my return. I'll mention your name

Brian, I've passed your phone number onto an interested (and potential NEW MEMBER) customer of mine. Just a heads up in case you get a call! Try convince him to join up, has a 996 C4 cab!

Just thought i would remind people off this service offered to members ,as said was happy in the way they sorted things and wheels look good

Well, thinking my boxster wheels needed a bit of freshening up I went up to "The Wheel Specialist" as mentioned by Brian above.....the BEST price he could do was £305......that was with some sort of discount - I mentioned the prices as described above and they were rubbished.....so picked my jaw up off the floor and walked.

Can anyone recommend anywhere else where the prices are perhaps a bit more realistic.....might even phone the OPC!

I was annoyed he did not give you the discount as arranged .John Grove was off today and you spoke to a guy called Paul .John said he will check why no discount was given and said he will honor the 33% I arranged for club members to get .
To all members ask for John and mention PCGB
I think this company where trying to get a contract with the OPC

Well, thanks to Brian I've agreed with them on £236 all-in.....so will let you all know how it goes - they certainly looked like a well set-up outfit....

Hi Greig,

I had my Boxster wheels powder coated there in September and the finish is good. Two niggles I had were that the inside diameter of the centre gets coated and then gets stripped off the first time you fit the wheels (with a fight as the I/D is then tight) and similarly the centre caps didn't fit very well as the hole for them is also too small with the coating rather than the original paint. I did call to complain and was told that they had seen the problems before but they were usually OK. Both are worth checking when you collect the wheel.

As stated in a previous post I had a few niggle due to to much build up ,and to be fair they put up there hands and rectified the problem and did not ask for payment until happy .It is the way companies react to complaints that get them repeat business and referrals

Adding to this thread for completeness, but see elsewhere for my experiences.

I had all 4 wheels for my boxster done recently, price as per posts, lovely job. They even put new tyres on for me (but I had to pay extra!).
Recommended.
